The Web App opened on 16 September 2026 at 17:00 UTC. The Companion App refresh followed on 17 September at 17:00 UTC.

Both clients manage your Ultimate Team away from the console. You can complete SBCs, use the Transfer Market and adjust tactics.

The timing matters. The Web App went live more than a day before Ultimate Edition early access on PC, and nine days before the worldwide launch.

The Companion App suits quick checks and squad admin. The Web App suits sitting down for a longer session.

Why the Transfer Market is locked at first

Transfer Market access is restricted at the start of a season.

This is the established pattern. Prices have not settled yet, and an open market is easier to exploit with coins and abnormal listings.

EA has not published a single unlock threshold for FC 27. Creator guides describe different requirements, usually tied to playing a number of matches or completing specific activities.

The fastest way to check your own status is to open the Web App and look at the Transfer Market entry. If it is still locked, work on SBCs and squad setup first.

How to use the first three days

This is a suggested routine, not an official rule:

Day one: audit your packs and items. Sort out low-value tradeable items and decide which to keep and which to list later.

Day two: finish low-requirement SBCs. Prioritise the ones that ask for few players and return someone who can start. Do not dismantle your first team to feed an SBC.

Day three: wait for prices to settle before buying. Early prices swing hard, and buying early usually means overpaying. Watch the price band for the positions you need.

The principle is that the Web App is valuable because it lets you progress without the console, not because it is a fast way to make coins.

Some profit claims are overstated

You will see titles promising 25,000 coins in an hour. Those are individual results under specific conditions.

They depend on the market at that moment, the items you already own and luck. Treat them as a reference, not a target.

Web App or the EA Play trial

If your goal is to push your club forward as early as possible, the Web App is more useful for the first two days because consoles are still locked out.

If your goal is to decide whether to buy, the EA Play 10-hour trial is better. Once the trial opens, the Web App’s main weakness becomes obvious: you can manage, but you cannot play matches.

Trial details are on the EA Play and Game Pass page.

Mobile is a different product

Keep the two apart. The Companion App is a companion tool for console FUT. EA SPORTS FC Mobile is a separate free-to-play game.

Its season timings are on the FC Mobile page.
