EA SPORTS FC 27 Platforms: What Each Version Misses
FC 27 runs on PC, PS5, PS4, both Xbox generations and both Switch models. The Grounds and its rewards only work on four of them.
EA SPORTS FC 27 has unusually wide platform coverage. It runs on PC through the EA app, Steam and Epic, plus PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.
This year’s headline feature has a hard limit, though. The Grounds and every reward tied to it only work on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2 and PC. PS4, Xbox One and Switch owners cannot enter.

Missing The Grounds is more than missing one mode. EA states that The Grounds rewards are only delivered on supported platforms. So the part of your edition content that belongs to The Grounds is simply unavailable on older hardware.
What older hardware actually loses
You lose The Grounds: three districts, kickabouts, 1v1s, the Bucket Ball minigame, Amps, and the Clubs hub that now lives inside that world.
You keep Ultimate Team, Career Mode and online matches. Those run on every supported platform.
The catch is that Clubs now sits inside The Grounds world. On PS4, Xbox One or Switch you cannot enter that world, so you also cannot collect its rewards.

How the free upgrade works
EA supports free upgrades between generations:
- PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5
- Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S
On digital stores the upgraded version normally appears in the same account library. Physical copies need the redemption code or the store’s own upgrade entry point.

EA specifically asks for dual channel memory. Two sticks perform better than the same total capacity in single channel. An SSD is strongly recommended, and a hard drive only satisfies the minimum.

What changed on PC this year
EA’s PC deep dive lists these changes:
- New Performance and Balanced graphics presets
- New High and Ultra specification targets, aimed at 80fps and 120fps
- Steam Friends sync automatically through EA Connect
- A VRAM usage indicator in the graphics menu
- Redesigned default keyboard layouts for WASD and arrow keys
- Optional Enhanced Ultra Visuals, off by default
EA says launch times improved by around 50% on some configurations. Results depend on your hardware.
Steam-specific requirements
The Steam store page lists a few things worth knowing before you buy:
- You need an EA account linked to your Steam account
- The EA app must be installed
- The game uses the kernel-level EA Javelin Anticheat, which has to be removed manually after uninstalling
- Denuvo Anti-tamper is included
